Does anyone have any ideas? We've had rollerblading and bowling thrown around by some people. Anyone have any opinions or new ideas?

What about the Melbourne Zoo?
We've talked about it for ages, the only issue i reckon we'll have is the food for lunch.
The admission pirces below.

Adults
(16 years and over) $24.40
Children
(4 to 15 years, children under 4 years free)   $12.10
Adult Concession
(16 years and over)  $18.50

 OR

We can go to The Melbourne Museum.
They have an exhibition called Dinosaur Walk.
This is from their website.

The Dinosaur Walk exhibition at Melbourne Museum brings ancient animals to life. Take a range of amazing skeletons. Combine them with ideas from science.  Add a little of your own imagination — and watch out!

Price
$8 Adults, Children and Concession FREE

Transport wise, we can all catch a train from Preston station - and get a pre-paid travel authority works out to be about $2.5 per kid for the day. Add food costs and it should sit within budget!

Yeah we did go to the Zoo this year. I think it was the month you and Sherine went to Canberra Peter. Rania, I also like the museum idea. Plus Youstina did suggest it last time so hopefully the kids will like it. And we went bowling in Feb this year. It was the day of the bushfires. i remember because we had to change the excursion from Fun Fields because it was going to be too hot so we decided on bowling and Mcdonalds at Epping.

Does anyone have any objections to the museum or have any other ideas?

Not opposed to museum but how about IMAX? http://www.imaxmelbourne.com.au/index.aspx?pageId=2#

And Eriny suggested the Aquarium: http://www.melbourneaquarium.com.au/

IMAX is a good idea but what movie would we watch? Eriny said last time they went to see one of those documentary movies and the kids were bored through it, so we have to make sure it's an actual movie not a documentary.

Plus I spoke to my cousin Mona and she can get us discounted tickets for the Aqaurium.

ADMISSION PRICES
Adult: $31.50 (Can get it for $25.90)

Child (3-15yrs): $18.00 (Can get it for $13.90)

Concession: $19.50

I personally like the Museum or Aquarium idea. IMAX would be good too, but I don’t know of any good movies out that we can take the kids too. I was thinking that if we take them to the Museum this month, they can go Aquarium next time and we can charge them a  bit more this month and we can subsidise  next month’s outing and take them to the Aquarium or IMAX. What does everyone think?

After ScienceWorks...I'm voting Aquarium :) but happy to do either.
I've got buy one ticket, get one free for the Aquarium in the entertainment book and could get a few more vouchers from ppl at work. Just a suggestion. We'd have to buy the tickets seperately as I don't think you can use the vouchers together. That could be draining.

Eriny's idea's good :)

I agree! I thnk we should go to the museum this week and charge a little extra so we can subsidise either IMAX or the Aquarium next month. Plus Rania if you can get the vouchers and I can ask Mona for the cheap tickets, we can organise a cheaper Aquarium visit in September. Now Eriny and I will be away for September excursion but even if you dont use the vouchers for the Aquarium and go to IMAX or somewhere else, we can save them up for October!

Okay, so anyone disagree or has any other ideas? Just have to say, Peter, these forums are such a good idea! :)

I agree, awesome work Peter, God bless your service!

I'll be at the excursion God willing.

Sorry about the coco cravings...he he. I think we should stick to sandwiches and maybe have a bbq in the gardens for lunch? Not sure about the weather tho...

Thanks habiby!

The coco pops were driving me crazy! Wink

I can keep an eye on the weather forcasts next week as we get closer to the weekend. If the weather is good, i love the BBQ idea! Simple, easy, and clean! (just bread- toast, sausages, sauce and chopped onions! (frozen bags from coles!))

If the weather is bad, i reckon we can go to a food court in the city somewhere and have pre packed sandwiches, or we try and get fish and chips from somewhere...

Any suggestions?
